Streamlining Freediving Events: Introducing the New Freedive Central Competition Manager

Finding a simple, reliable platform to broadcast freediving competition results in real-time can be a challenge for organizers, whether the event takes place in a pool or open water. To solve this, we are excited to announce the launch of the new Competition Manager on Freedive Central.

Building on the legacy of our previous version, this tool is designed to be a dedicated hub for storing results, generating reports, and providing a seamless experience for spectators. Our goal isn’t to replace official federation platforms, but to provide a powerful supporting tool for organizations. We built this for our own events, and we’ve decided to open it up to the entire community free of charge.

Key Features of the Competition Manager

📅 Freedive Central Calendar

The public calendar lists all upcoming events scheduled by organizers. Users can click on any event to view details, and athletes registered on Freedive Central can sign up directly through the event profile. The organizer maintains full control by confirming each registration.

🎛️ Main Dashboard & Event Listing

Organizers have a complete overview of their competition history. From the dashboard, you can activate events on the public calendar, create new competitions, edit event details, or jump straight into athlete and results management.

👥 Athlete Management

This section provides a clear list of all athletes who signed up. Organizers can also manually search for and add athletes to the roster. Once an athlete’s participation is confirmed here, they become available for result entry.

⏱️ Instant Result Entry

Speed is essential during a competition. In this panel, the organizer simply selects the day and the athlete to input their performance. The moment the data is added, it is pushed live to the public.

📝 Review, Edit, and Overall Rankings

• Viewing & Editing: A dedicated section allows organizers to see a daily breakdown of results, with the ability to edit or remove entries if corrections are needed.

• Overall Ranking: The system automatically calculates the total scores across multiple days, providing an instant leaderboard for the entire event.

📊 Live Results: No Reloading Required

The highlight of the platform is the Live Results page. Organizers get a pre-formatted link ready to share on social media. Spectators can follow the action in real-time; the page updates automatically as soon as a result is entered—no manual refreshing required. The page does the work so the audience doesn’t miss a single performance. Dark/light mode button available on this page.
